Xiaomi Redmi 5A with 5-inch HD display and Android Nougat launched

Last month, a new smartphone with model number “MCT3B” has received the certifications from TENNA and today it has launched the Xiaomi Redmi 5A smartphone in China which is the successor of Xiaomi Redmi 4A smartphone that was launched in India this year.

Xiaomi Redmi 5A features a 5-inch HD display with 720 x 1280 pixels resolution and a pixel density of 296ppi and is powered by a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 425 quad-core processor. The smartphone runs on Android Nougat operating system wrapped under MIUI 9.

In the camera sections, Redmi 5A offers a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF, LED Flash, f/2.2 aperture, burst mode, panorama mode, HDR mode, and more and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies with f/2.0 aperture lens. It comes with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage and expandable storage up to 128GB via microSD.

The Redmi 5A measures 140.4 x 70.1 mm x 8.35 mm and weighs 137g. Connectivity wise the smartphone offers hybrid dual SIM, 4G with VoLTE, Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, a micro USB port and 3,000 mAh battery.

The Redmi 5A comes in Champagne Gold, Pink and Grey colours options. The price of new Redmi 5A is 599 Yuan which is approximately Rs 5,884. The smartphone will be available for purchase on both online and offline channels. The sale would commence at 10 AM tomorrow via Mi Mall, Mi Home, JD.com, Lynx, Suning Tesco, Mi Stores, China Mobile Mall and several other retail outlets across China.
