Smartron launched with Snapdragon 652, Android 7.1 at Rs. 12999

Finally, the Sachin Tendulkar Android phone Smartron srt. (Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar) has been launched at an event in India. The handset is prepared and sold by IoT startup Smartron in which Tendulkar is a strategic investor.

Smartron features a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) IPS display, Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection and is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 652 processor (Quad 1.8GHz ARM Cortex A72 + Quad 1.44GHz A53 CPUs) with Adreno 510 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat) and it is promise by to upgrade to upcoming Android O as well as fastest software updates and security patches.

It comes with 4GB LPDDR3 RAM, 32GB / 64GB (EMMC5.1) internal memory. In the camera sections, it has a 13MP rear camera with LED Flash, PDAF, f/2.0 aperture and 5MP front-facing camera with wide-angle lens. It has dual micro SIM slots (micro+micro), but it doesn’t have an expansion slot. It is offering unlimited tCloud storage. It also has a fingerprint sensor on the back that can unlock the phone in just 0.09 seconds.

It measures 153x77x8.9mm; Weight: 155g. Connectivity wise it offers 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz and 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, FM Radio and 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 when charged using the bundled 18W adapter(5V/2A and 9V/2A).

The Smartron will be available in Titanium Gray color and it costs Rs. 12,999 for the 32GB version and the 64GB version costs Rs. 13,999.  It will be available exclusively on Flipkart. You will also be offerd extra Rs. 1500 discount on exchange and the Smartron will comes with additional back covers featuring the autograph of Tendulkar for a limited period.
