Honor the sub-brand of Huawei has launched its flagship Honor 9 smartphone in China.
The Honor 9 features a 5.15-inch full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display and is powered by a 2.4GHz octa-core Kirin 960 processor, Mali G71 MP8 GPU. The smartphone runs on Android 7.0 Nougat operating system wrapped under EMUI 5.1.
In the camera sections, the Honor 9 has a dual rear camera setup of 20 megapixel and 12 megapixel with phase detection autofocus, Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR, panorama, and a dual tone LED flash. The primary rear camera has f/2.2 aperture and 4K video recording. In the front, an 8-megapixel shooter with f/2.0 aperture has been provided for selfies. It comes in three variants – 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB internal storage. It also gets dual hybrid SIM (nano SIM + nano SIM / microSD) slot.
The handset measures 147.3 x 70.9 x 7.45 mm and weighs 155 grams. The Honor 9 also comes with a fingerprint scanner which is located on its front panel embedded into the home button. It has USB Type-C port and an Infrared sensor as well. Connectivity wise the smartphone has a Hybrid Dual SIM tray, 4G LTE with VoLTE, WiFi (a/b/g/n/ac), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC and a 3200 mAh battery with fast charging support.
Honor 9 smartphone will be available in four different colours- Blue, Amber Gold, Gray and Black colours. Honor 9 with 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage is priced at 2,299 Yuan (approximately Rs 23,000) in China. The 6GB RAM and 64GB storage variant comes at 2,699 Yuan (approximately Rs 27,000). The high-end 128GB with 6GB RAM variant will be available for 2,999 Yuan (approximately Rs 30,000). The smartphone is up for order in China from today and will go on sale on June 16 from Jingdong, Lynx, and Vmall.
